About Ronald Grogan

Ronald Grogan Ron shot photography off and on for over 35 years, with a heavy concentration of almost daily shooting the final 2-3 years of his life. Ron loved shooting almost anything, but nature was a preferred subject, and he had a heavy concentration of eagles and other birds.

Ron was an active member of the Blue Water Shutterbugs, Studio 1219 in Port Huron, Alice Moore Center for the Arts in St. Clair, Blue Water Photo and Video and the St. Clair County Eagle Watcher's. Ron's work has been published in Moon Michigan by Laura Martone, had photos of the blue water area in Discover the Blue Visitors Guide and the Chamber of Commerce Regional Membership Directory for several years. The Michigan Nature Association Sanctuary photo contests, 2011- Third Place in landscapes, "Spring Woods" in Jasper Woods and 2012- Judges' Choice Award, "The Stairs" in Alton McGaw.

Ron lost his battle with cancer in December 2015, after spending his final year as an active photographer, leaving his wife, Grace, more than 9,000 photographs to review, process and make available for purchase. A task that has not yet been tackled but has not been forgotten. Grace is also a photographer and you can also browse her galleries at 1-grace-grogan.pixels.com.

Ron never viewed photography as work, but more a way of challenging himself, to see if he ccould capture that perfect photo. Ron's goal was to capture a moment or event in time that could trigger a memory, tell a story, and record a special time or place for the viewer. Ron felt that if he accomplished those things then all the time and effort that he put into his photography was justified.

Ron's websites are now managed by his wife, Grace, who hopes that you will enjoy browsing Ron's photo galleries, perhaps make a purchase or two, and by all means check back often and share the news of his website with others.
